I will admit that I have never participated in the fundraiser that benefits the Special Olympics Oklahoma by donating to the law enforcement at the doughnut shop but I am going to start this year and forward.  This is such a terrific fundraiser for such a worthy cause.

On September 11 through September 13, 2009, the 7th Annual Cops on Doughnut Shops fundraiser will take place at Krispy Kreme.  The way it works is a law enforcement representative camps out on the roof at Krispy Kreme.  Other personnel of law enforcement are on the ground to collect donations.  These donations go directly to fund Special Olympics Oklahoma.

The goal for 2009 is $40,000.  Last year they raised $31,000.  Krispy Kreme provides incentives like “free doughnuts” and coffee.  They also have T-shirts.
